Instagram Photo Contest #MyOrangeMoment

 

The First Month

AEON BiG, a hypermarket in Malaysia joined Facebook in 15th of March 2013 and in less than one month garnered over 10,000 new fans from zero fan base.

How?

We focused on engaging conversation and an interactive fun campaign. We created engaging, creative content with interesting visuals to drive interactions then using two social media platforms Facebook and Instagram we created a photo competition.

Leveraging on the number of fans and using Facebook Ads, Promoted Posts and Sponsored Stories we received over 150 entries and created a buzz on-ground at the hypermarkets around Malaysia and online with entries flooding AEON Big Instagram account and Facebook with conversations, shares and votes (carried on a Facebook Tab). Through this photo competition, we were able to drive Facebook traffic to Instagram and create a new platform for AEON BiG to communicate with their fans. A definite thumb-ups!

We strongly believe the use of creative content and good visuals was the key to engage with existing fans and attracting new fans. Through one social media platform, we were able to get AEON BiG to experience it’s next platform and gained confidence in the power of social media marketing and digital advertising. Using social media effectively gave AEON BiG the advantage to engage with their customer and to also reward its fans with great online offers.
