Instagram Photo Contest #MyDreamHoliday


Using two of the most renowned social platform - Facebook and Instagram – we came up with a PETRONAS #MyDreamHoliday campaign as a teaser for PETRONAS 'My Dream Getaway' contest.

We asked the fans to upload a picture at Instagram, hashtag it #MyDreamHoliday and the 10 most creative entries in terms of the picture and post shall win Gift Cards worth RM100 each. This created a respectable buzz although the prize given wasn't much.

In a way though, it helped a lot because when PETRONAS came up with My Dream Getaway contest with prizes up to RM1.5 million to be won, the response was positively overwhelming – proven in the increase of the number of likes from an average of 2,500 for #MyDreamHoliday to more than 10,000 for My Dream Getaway.

Driving back and forth with the traffic for both Facebook and Instagram platforms created an opportunity for PETRONAS to increase the number of followers leading to more engagements. It was rather expected even when not long after that, PETRONAS Brands was awarded the Verified Page by Facebook, acknowledging its authentic identity.
